"Can I get the % upped if it is discovered that it is related to the hip fracture?"
You can file the claim on a 21-4138 form available at the VA web site.
Make sure you begin to accumulate any VA medical records, particularly the ones they determine cause of this for and any treatment records.
By time you hear from VA on the claim, you will have some evidence if this is secondary to the SC hip problem.
It s hard to determine how they will rate this- as you don't have the diagnosis of the problem yet or if it is secondary to the SC.
You could also raise issue that this is secondary to SC hip and/or aggravating an established SC condition.

Hi I was rated at 10% in 1988 21 years ago for a trochantric neck hip fracture. I have not had any hip problems till this year. I know have pains in the hip joints which I think is due to arthritis of some kind.
Can I get the % upped if it is discovered that it is related to the hip fracture?
I have not used the VA until I finally signed up at the local VA clinic last month. I have an appointment with the VA primary doctor to see what is causing the hip pain
Any tips on what I should do? or not do?
