Yes that new fast letter is sure turning things around on retros they had tried to deliberately withhold.
In 2 weeks it will be 10 MONTHS they have withheld my retro and other ancillary benefits after receipt of the BVA award.
I have copy however of letter from the General COunsel to the RO dated Dec 24th 2009 that instructs them apply and adhere to the laws they have to follow in order to get my claim resolved.
They (RO) knew the laws all along-they just hoped I didnt know them.
I wonder how many vets are going to wait and wait needlessly for retro that has already been awarded yet the VA doesnt want to send to them.(or widows like me- it is a disgrace!)

Do a request for the retro for your partial grant "now." If you have bills that are piled up like me you need that now rather than later. The remand may take several months.
Congratulations on your award though. Nice win for the books.

My wait is over. I received award letter today from local VARO (Newark, N.J.) implementing BVA decision dated June 19, 2009 for original claim filed on September 17, 2002. Retro will be paid within 15 days for 30% s/c. I believe the recent FAST Letter had a lot to do with this. Original BVA decision was for an order and a remand before a law judge (requested) for a higher evaluation. FAST letter stated that a partial decision was a FAVORABLE decision for the Veteran and retro should not be held back while the remand is being worked on. Thank you all.
