The C&P examiner made up a different version of MY combat stressor. I apparently showed up the next day by myself and guarded people that weren't there. I got a 30% Anxiety award. I keep seeing this over again in my psychotherapy notes. My words are taken out of context or a arranged in a negative light. I feel like I'm being messed with for shits gigs.. My Active Duty Medical records were done this way and I leave the Army with 0% all EPS. This is a big stressor for me and it is a reason mental health is no longer a medical asset for me. I have problems with this and I don't see how to fix a genuine disdain of seeking mental health treatment. It feels like 2004 when I had no idea what was up and I swallowed every diagnosis but the right one.

PTSD actually is an anxiety disorder.

Are you employed? If not, did the VA send you a TDIU form?

The form is here at hadit under forms, # 21-8940.

TDIU is paid at the 100% rate of compensation.

I dont think this diagnosis should concern you.

My husband's first award letter in 1983 for30 % for PTSD said “nervous condition”.

He went to Hell and back. Nervous condition my butt. It was major trauma.But PTSD was a 'new' diagnosis then.

His posthumous 100% P & T SC award ,EED 1991, said "PTSD."

If you feel the award should be challenged, you could NOD it and I do understand a veteran would want the VA to get their stressor right.

But you did get a SC award for this.

You do bring up a good point.whatever we don't challenge to the VA means we accept it.

I am sure this was a big stressor to you. But I don't think the anxiety diagnosis matters.

All MH claims are rated the same way per the schedule of ratings.

I remember that the VA said I was service connected for a "nervous condition" back in 1973. They recently denied I was ever SC'ed for a nervous condition, but I have it in black and white. I think that title was just a general description of any mental health condition back in the day.

Of course, Berta is right. The schedule for rating mental health disorders is based on SYMPTOMS, not the disorder. It does not matter if its depression, PTSD, Bipolar, Schizo, Anxiety or whatever mental health disorder. They are all rated on the same criteria, based on your symptoms.

While I would also be a bit nervous of the mental health guy "making up" a stressor, since you did get rated, the stressor is not an issue as you have been Service connected for a mental health disorder.

If you feel the VA "lowballed" you, then you should file a NOD within a year of the RO decision.

Did you get a copy of the VA comp and Pen exam? If not, you should get one and read it. Maybe it is not as "negative" as you think.

Hi all, Back in 2004 I filed for ptsd. Back then I knew nothing like the word generallized angzeity disorder which is GAD. Well the va flat out dineied my claim in 2004. The c&p phycologist wrote it up as I didn't quite add up to ptsd but I did qualify for major depression with social angzieties. Well this then sat around at the Phila va and I filed to appeal I forget when I did this but it was in time for the one year to file. Anwway I just got e-benifits about 3 weeks ago only to find out it is still at the Phila Va. I was wondering everytime I call the dav or the 1 800 # I get diferent answers. One time they tell me it is in Washington next time they tell me it is still at Phila. What a bunch off no nothing lieers and that includes the dav whom represents me. When I call them the dav they take my phone # and the lady says they will contact me! BS it doesent happen. I am thinking about going up to Pa dav Head office to try to get some answers or another lawer. please give me advice. I didn't want to highjack your post but it does have to do with you post.
