Is there a VA form that gives a spouse permission to submit for the veteran and request and receive claim information for a veteran who getting mentally and physicallt getting past the point of doing for himself? If so please give me the number of the form and where to send the form after completing.

I think a durable power of attorney would allow it, but I am not sure how they would react as the spouse is not recognized by VA as a approved service organization.

Thanks Rentalguy, I doubt if they would recognize the spouse as a power of atorney and I think you can only have one of those. Just another way for the VA to run out the clock on a claim of someone who is disabled it seems.

Call the VARO at 800 827 1000 and ask them to mail you the form so your wife can manage your claim for you. Its ok they actually do have a Form for it and make a copy and have it certified.
