Elk Hunt Individuals Found And Not Found

U.S. Army soldiers sent from Fort Wainwright, Alaska to Fort Greely, Alaska for ELK HUNT Phase 1 & 2 Testing, 1964.

1. During the period June through September 1964, the following individuals were assigned to support Test Series ELK HUNT:

d. 4th Bn 9th Infantry

2. These men were required to perform duties for which they had little or no previous experience or training. In spite of this handicap, they applied themselves to learning their new jobs and carried them out with enthusiasm and unselfish dedication. In spite of long hours, arduous working and living conditions, and isolation from recreational opportunties, their enthusiasm, morale, and loyalty to the program never wavered.
