I am unable to find the answer to the steps that are involved from application to rating decision.

Question, when is a C&P exam requested, if at all? Is it while the claim is at the review board or rating board?I filed a claim last year November. Lots of correspondences between the VA and myself, including cathering medical evidence for the claims and such.Once all the required paperwork was there, the materials where reviewed.

Here is what I got from the VA: [color="#8b0000"][b]Good news. Your claim was reviewed and then sent to the rating board on 10/15/08

Here is the response [color="#0000ff"][b]I got from them: Once a rating is decided, the claim is sent to an authorizer to ensure the decision is processed correctly and in accordance with the law.  Then you will be provided with the rating decision via letter. As we have mentioned in our prior correspondence, it would be difficult to provide a time frame as all claims are unique. Again, thank you for your patience.

Even so they did not get me a tiome frame, question, is it during this time frame a C&P is scheduled, if at all.

Thank you for clarifying this for meHave a nice day

If you have enough evidence the VA may not schedule a C&P exam. What I can say is that once you have a C&P exam your rating is not far behind.

I had my C&P exam on December 2nd, now the VA is saying, that it will take another 120 days. Something is not adding up anymore, and the inconsistency within the VA is mind bogeling by itself.

What is considered an acceptable time frame from C&P exam to rating decision?

thanks

There is no general consideration/ It depends on the complexity of the claim. I have seen as little as 3 weeks and as long as 1 year.

You should hear something in Feb.

You had Christmas to contend, it and New Years.

Governmental Offices + National Holiday = no work product for the week before the holiday and the week after the holiday.

So, we had Christmas, so nothing happened, say from the 15th of December until the 31st of Decem...........no, wait...we had New Years so nothing happened from the 25th of December til the 1st of January, then nothing happened from the 1st of January until the 7th or 8th or 9th (cuttin 'em a little slack, doncha know).

So, you had your C&P on the 2nd of December, so from the 2nd until the 15th is approx. 2 weeks and then nothing happened until, say, the 8th of January and today's the.....oooooops, guess what, they aren't back to work YET! And, it usually takes a month or three after your C&P before you hear anything........ blink.gif
