Just got rated at 40% and my rep applied me for voc rehap

In reading the hand out they give I am wondering just what a "employment handicap means and also what kinds of problems I will face now going into trying to get this benefit

Also I am most interested in self-employment, any insights as to what kinds of business concept they will support

Thanks
jbasser
An employment handicap is a medical condition that you have that will hinder you in the Job Market.
For example, you have a bad back. You cannot work carrying blocks but you can be a doll stuffer.

I am a Service Officer here in NY. I was speaking to the Voc rehab ladies here and some codes I was looking for clarification on were IU and PTSD. Both Codes from the Regional Office fill in the Computer as SEH Field as YES. Something to think about.

I don't know what kind of concepts the VA will support for vets who want to be self-employed, but that is a good idea for a disabled person. You don't have to deal with discrimination. Contrary to what some think being disabled is a major barrier to getting a job. If you are over 40 and have a disability you are really up against it.
