this is from the dav, but all the major service organizations have a legislative action center where you can check on legislation concerning veterans and it's easy to email or write your congress person to support or oppose these proposals

here are a few of them, worth checking out.

Interested in obtaining a legal opinion regarding legislation enacted in Public Law 100-322 approved by the Senate in 1988 invloving the POW medal.

Anyone know of a person with legal expertise that would take the time for approximately 139 WWII veterans?

The VA has come under scrutiny lately regarding compensation to some GWVs and Vietnam Vets who claimed they were POWs and apparently were not.

Can I ask where you got the figure from on these WWII POW vets?

Please dont misunderstand where I was coming from-I thought we had thousands of POWs from WWII-but dont know how many are still alive.

The link I gave is an unfortunate situation-it happens-

This regarding the POW medal- the Pub L 100-322 of 1988 contained many other facets such as the Annual POW MIA Recognition Day.

Are you looking for some sort of VA General COunsel opinion on this criteria?

I will see if they ever published one and post it here.
