Does anyone know if vocrehab benefits are reportablein at the state level? I know they are exempt from taxes and can't be counted as income for other purposes, like loan consideration, but I am not sure about other things. The Dept of Health in NC is trying to tell me they are, but I don't think so.

Most states will count any and all income when applying for benefits. Voc Rehab stipend is not counted as taxable income, but states do consider it when computing household income. Hope that helps.

I know in the past when I was filling out forms I only answered questions if they specifically were asked. I did not report Voc Rehab cause on most forms they did not ask. If they did I answered them truthfully.
I harbor the opinion that if you get non reportable VA Income you really are under no obligation to report it but I know that sometimes they specifically ask for it and I always comply.
