Recieving 20% for HTN, suffered a stroke 8 weeks ago, had several since TIA's which now they tell me I having Complex's Mingraine which leaves paralysis on my right side up to 3 hours at a time. Any ideas on the rating on this? Now 8 weeks after the stroke I vary from 50%-90% as for recovery. When my body stresses I'm at the worst. Going to the VA tomorrow. Have not been to work in over 8 weeks, almost out of leave. Also been in and out of the hospital those 8 weeks.

Have you filed a claim for them?
These would be a slam dunk and immediatly ask for IU . Also consider your retirement options fromthe USPS.
Disability under fers is fairly quick.
Time to make plans. You will never be your old self again.

I file tomorrow with the VA. I have to look into my options with fers and the USPS. I'm not sure if thier still have the early retirement at 50 still. Just got all the medical records copied today and briefly talked to a DAV Rep. I'll find out more tomorrow. This just has me so worried, heard so many bad stories. This stroke has really changed my life.

Went to DAV got interviewed and he filed the claim. He wants me to have my doctor to write a letter that
1. State that the stroke and migraine is secondary to HTN.
2. All residuals that I have after the stroke.
3. Alittle bio of her self.
He mention if may take any where up to 9 -16 months!

If you have to quit working USPS make sure that your records state that your medical problems are affecting your ablility to continue working are the reasons for leaving.
Good luck!

I have my C&P Exam next Wednesday for the Migraines, I was awarded 100% for 6 months for the stroke. Not sure yet for the residuals. I'm still having issues and not fully recovered. I'm just taking it one day at a time!

How do TMJ triggered headaches figure into this? Some days, I just put my dinner in a blender. Other days, I feel like my head is going to explode, like in that movie "Scanners".
Are these considered isolated from each other?

Just got the results from my sleep study today, and I have "severe sleep apnea". They said I stop breathing a few times for over 10 seconds. I'll be getting more details nexts week on the mask I have to wear at night, from what they tell me it makes some noise! And yes, its secondary to the Stroke! So, once I get all the copies of the test I'll file another claim with the VA. Anyone have any ideas of the average rating and code for sleep apnea? Still waiting for VA to rate the Migraine.
