I have been 40% for fibro, hearing and left knee problem. I filed for increase last October 08 for fibro since it has gotten worse. The VA sent me an tdiu form to fill out also. I have three C&p's stating that i was unemployable due to the fibro. They also sent for depression exam and found me 30 %. I thought for sure with the statements from the Doc's that should bump me up to the max for fibro and qualify me for 100%. I have not worked sine last October and i had statements from my employer. I received my results the other day and i was awarded only 30 for depression and no increase for fibro. I was just wandering why i did not qualify?

I would appeal the 30% for depression. What are the markers for fibro. I may have it because I have none arthritic pain that is muscular but it hurts like hell in my back. I don't have really bad discs and it is a mystery to me and I get the feeling the docs think it is in my head. If you tell a doctor that you have a emotional disorder and also have pain you just shot yourself in the foot. They write you off as a nutcase unless you have a broken bone.

Fibro involves the ligaments and mus. You also have tender points in the chest, back, neck, legs and hips. The pain is intense and feel's like a deep aching burning sensation. You can also have fatigue and confusion with it. There are days that you do not even want to be touched due to the severe pain. To be diagnosed you must meet 18 tender points out of 22. It is a horrible chronic condition with the symptoms getting worse over time. There is no cure at this time but ther is some meds to help cope with the symptoms. i hope this helps out.
