I just had a very bad blonde moment....and I can't reverse it. I'm in the kitchen taking my meds and I think to myself "why is this one pill cut in half...that isn't right"....then I realize, oh sh!t!! I've just taken my nighttime meds. I've already downed 3 trazodone.
And I have an important PCP appt at 1300. Trazodone kicks my ass.

Boy do I feel stupid. I swear my memory is just.....................gone. Good thing though I realized it before I got to that little 1/2 tablet....that was the Risperdone.....that really knocks me out cold.

Guess I'll be needing extra coffee.

Anyone else ever done this? Or am I the only dumb blonde on here.......
LarryJ
Naw...you isn't.

We'll wait, now, for more dumb blondes to respond!

snicker, snicker........ biggrin.gif

not alone, done it,
JON
Don't feel alone. One time I forgot that I'd taken my morning meds and took them again! My wife asked me why I took my meds twice. Duh!
rentalguy1
been there, done that. That's why I have a pillbox for daytime meds in the kitchen and one for night time meds in the bedroom.
sharon
Been there, done that, got a tee shirt.

Nice to know I am not the only one who has done that. Welcome to the house of making mistakes with meds.
LarryJ
Seriously now, I have never made a mistake with my meds. Anytime I miss a dose or "accidentally" take them, either too often, or not enough, nor at the right time, I do NOT consider myself as having made a mistake (it's just hell when you reach my level of perfection). No, when any of the above scenarios happen with me and my medication, I consider it to be a direct result from The Voices telling me what to do............... unsure.gif

Many of these drugs actually cause amnesia. Ambien being the worse. Take two Ambien before going to bed and if you wake up before you get 8 hours sleep you may forget your own name.
carlie
purple,
Check your PM's.

scary thing is....my pills are in those little pill boxes marked "AM" & "PM" and just smooth as sh*t, i took the PM pills!!

i'm having a helluva time trying to stay awake,,,,feel like im in a fog

wonder if i cantake my trasodone tonight
Pete53
My pill box is so old except for blue at night and yellow in morning I have no clue. Now that I take insulin the only med at noon is my injection.

I still have a hard time getting it right. I really figure that it eventually works out.

My wife brings the xanax and watches me take it.
Ryan
Yep, been there broke the shot glass.

I was on resparidone too, and it quit working on me. Most meds I take do really good at first, and then within a few weeks nothing. Ativan was the one which I tried twice, and both times I got chest pains from it.

But ya, I forget when, and if I've taken mine somewhat often among many other things. Taken them twice before too.

Worst thing I have done was take my morning pills at 7pm because I forgot to take em in the morning, then took my
night time pill at 10pm. I was so loopty I couldn't sleep or even think straight for quite awhile.
So now when I forget my morning pills(which happens way too much) I just wait til next day.
Pete53
I figure if I take morning meds before 12 PM I am in the clear.

Yup, that's kinda the time frame that I work under. Morning meds = anytime between midnight and noon. Afternoon/Evening meds = sometime between lunch and bed time.

Close enough fer gubbermint work!

The Wife-type personage, The RN, well, she don't exactly see it that way, but, she knows when to expend energy debating points with me, and when not to. She feels good about even getting me to take the stuff to start with, I guess rolleyes.gif !

Yeah, I know, I know, MEN! mad.gif

I think the latest i've taken my morning meds is about 2pm....I figured it was morning somewhere; doesn't that count??

Not just forgotten but forgotten to get some RX's refilled thinking I had already gotten them refilled...that's when it gets bad. Have had to get to the VA Pharmacy for a "get me by" (ten day supply) twice this month. So, I feel ya...
cowgirl
Aw Purple, it can happen and I hope you were/are alright to drive.

I popped evening pills and didn't feel both go down. (my tongue counts?) One medium size other tiny. I called VA, got grrrr telehealth nurse, after too many questions over a 15 minute period, advice - don't take until next dose. Got call from pcp first thing next day, hey, they do call! I fretted for days afterwards, trying to get better routine on. Don't pop em in the mouth anymore either, ha.

My story on 'get me by' meds, did that few times, one pharmacy tech asked me basic questions, seriously, stupid me cracked a joke when leaving, my goof, he checked me with one more question, creepy peculiar. Other time "get me by' meds, went through seperate interview and discussion with several individuals in a row -pcp clerk, nurse, pcp themself, pharmacy technician and pharmacist before 8 pills were released. (yup, NON-narcotic wellbutrin).

I probably shouldn't have driven yesterday....but I was extra careful. *Note to self: Large quantities of caffiene have no effect on trazodone*

I went ahead and took my nighttime trazodone dose....sure did sleep good last night!!
I didn't want to call the telenurse and get my butt chewed out.
blackbird
Yea I've done it too. Was suppose to take two antibiotic capsules at 6pm, but got the wrong bottle in the dark, and took two extra blood pressure capsules, in addition to the one I had already taken that morning. Needless to say I was very relaxed for about 16 hours!

The moral to the story: NEVER TAKE DRUGS IN THE DARK!!!

Purple, by now you should feel your among friends, that have made the same error that you did.
I don't think Blond had nothing to do with it. I went into the emergency room once because I couldn't get my blood pressure to come down, I finally relized I was taking double water pill, and no blood pressure medicine for a long period of time. I am not blond, I am grey haired
