I have been waiting several days for the VA to reply to an email were I ask for status on my disability claim. I finally got a response!! They wanted to know what branch of service I was in for security reasons. Is this normal? A call from the DAV informed me that my claim was currently being rated. But, I'm sure it will be at least 3 to 6 months.

There is a list of questions that they have to ask in order to identify you. You would be suprised at the number of people that try to access other people's accounts/information.
