I always think that my DD214 is a good example of Government paperwork.
According to my DD214, I was Airborne Qualified without ever having attended Airborne School at Ft. Devens 10SFG. I am language proficient in three foreign languages, but only one language school out of two is listed. (I knew French prior to going into the Military) I then also went to Russian refresher at BYU in Provo, UT, but that too is not listed, but there is an SMR from it in my c-file. Those are just the errors that I can think of off the top of my head, the list is longer...
I have never even bothered to find out how to ammend the DD214, but now I think that ammending it would be a waste of time, if no one looks at it.
I would encourage you to update your DD214, Bonzai. I used my Congressman's office to help me get my DD215.
I will use the blatant fact that the VA rater never turned the page or looked at my DD215 when deciding my claim, as evidence when I drag their asses in front of the BVA or a COVA judge.
You owe it you yourself to get your DD214 corrected.
Here is a link with some info on how to obtain a 215...
