Not a problem. Just mail it in with your VA Claim # or SS# attached to it. It should find it's way to your file (maybe). A note of explanation wouldn't hurt. The big thing is, don't be so hard on yourself. Also, did you check your DD214 to see if there were any mistakes on it? I found a mistake on mine and had to get a DD215 to attach to the DD214. When the VA sent me my letter of denial, they went into great detail about what was on my DD214 and never mentioned the purple heart on the corrected DD215. Another words, the VA rater never turned the page passed the DD214, to see the DD215. LOL

I always think that my DD214 is a good example of Government paperwork.

According to my DD214, I was Airborne Qualified without ever having attended Airborne School at Ft. Devens 10SFG. I am language proficient in three foreign languages, but only one language school out of two is listed. (I knew French prior to going into the Military) I then also went to Russian refresher at BYU in Provo, UT, but that too is not listed, but there is an SMR from it in my c-file. Those are just the errors that I can think of off the top of my head, the list is longer...

I have never even bothered to find out how to ammend the DD214, but now I think that ammending it would be a waste of time, if no one looks at it.

I would encourage you to update your DD214, Bonzai. I used my Congressman's office to help me get my DD215.

I will use the blatant fact that the VA rater never turned the page or looked at my DD215 when deciding my claim, as evidence when I drag their asses in front of the BVA or a COVA judge.

You owe it you yourself to get your DD214 corrected.
