On July 28th I rec'd notice from the VA that I would get 30% for PTSD, but denied for Diabetes and Hereditary Angioedema. My claim for Tinnitus was deferred.
On July 29th I got a retro check.
On July 30th I had message on my answering machine from QTC. I left several messages, my thinking is that they were scheduling a test for Tinnitus.
Today, July 31st I got another brown envelope from the VA. The very first statement is "We are working on your claim for:" hereditary angioedema, tinnitus, diabetes secondary, PTSD. The next paragraph tells me where to send any new evidence. The next one is telling me how soon they want the info. Last paragraph states they want to schedule me for an examination.
Now, did I get the 30% for PTSD, and denied for the others or not? Is the examination that the VA is referring to for Tinnitus, as they do not identify the type of exam in their letter.
Could anyone please tell me what is going on? I thought after my letter from the VA on the 28th, I basically knew what I needed to do. Now, I do not.

I share your confusion regarding your July 31st letter. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Confusion seems to be SOP at that Gov. bureaucracy. Now you will have to wait till Monday to hopefully find out. Patience is a requirement when interacting with the VA. Best wishes on a successful outcome.

I would send an IRIS request, and ask them what is going on?
I would ask via the IRIS form for them to call you. Those who called me back had good solid info.

If the letter states that we are sorry for the delay or something to that effect, it is a computer generated letter that comes from the central HINES computer. These letters are automaticly sent out every 90 - 120 days. It was in the system before you got your decision. The C&P exam is for your tinnitus. Sleep tight.
By the way, I live in the 51st state. The state of confusion.

Sharon,
I know the letter that you are referring to, but this was not one of them.

If you sent in evidence recently, it would reopen the claim. If mail is associated with the claim after it is rated it will reopen the claim. Have you appealed a decision?

I just received the decision this week, and have not sent in any new evidence. The only thing that I have noticed is that in the past they used the term "Diabetes and some word that starts with an "M", and this last letter it is "Diabetes Secondary". I do not know why the change, but it should have been secondary all along. I do intend to do a NOD and a new claim. I lost all my medical records in the flood here in 2002, so it is taking some effort to replace them.
