This chronic back pain is really wearing me out. All modes of therapy have really failed so far. I am just holding the line with dope, but it is failing. What are some alternative treatments for chronic pain? I am going from doctor to doctor seeking a cure. I feel like some of these quacks are taking advantage of me with nerve blocks and all this other crap. I take oxycodone and vicodin and I just get some relief. The VA has failed me and so have the private pain doctors.

This iis a temporary fix but go to the VA and ask for a torodol injection. It will last for less than a day but I have done it as an emergency.
It works by reducing the swelling with a massive dose of injected Nsaid.

I also have chronic lower back & joint pain in my hands. I know what you mean about both VA and private sector pain docs! Private care docs here in Arkansas are scared to death of giving out pain meds.

The DEA and the state of Florida has put the fear of God into the pain management doctors. All they want to do now is give those expensive steroid shots.

Yeah the Arkansas pain specialist are scared, and after what happened to Dr. Fisher in Ft. Smith, prison term and lost medical license (He did return to university and earn a degree in law) and a couple of others here in Arkansas that were raided several years ago, I don't blame them for being scared!

The DEA SWAT teamed their offices early AM, just like a meth lab raid, and confiscated all patient records, computers, etc. and left the patients out in the cold without a means of treating their pain, they treated the patients as addicts, so the other doctors were scared of taking them on as patients after the storm went through. Sad state of affairs for sure!

It's difficult to find a good pain clinic for sure. If you don't mind driving, Hot Springs has a good one.

There's a good psychiatrist at the VA NW AR now; he moved to Rogers.
Miss Him...my doc now wants to change my meds around. Xanax works, but i guess Klonopin is what I'll be getting in three months.

John,

I have tried chinese accupressure massage with some relief. Is there any chiropractors in your area that specialized in manipulation of the nerves in you back? I found one from India, and he has helped some. It's not covered by insurance but has been worth it so far.
