Since no one ever bothered to call me with the results of this test, I went and got my records. The good news is no cancer. But I do have "Active Colitis". It just doesn't say which kind.
There is a copy in my records of a letter I was supposed to receive in the mail (might still get, who knows) that basically says..."You don't have cancer". But never mentions the colitis. Just says to call if I have questions and have another test in 10 years.
Wow.
I had to get my records and get my own test results for all of my stool samples I took in as well...no one bothered to call me on those or my blood tests.

My f/u with my PCP isn't until 1 Oct. No f/u scheduled with the GI doc. Amazing.

No change in symptoms.

When you see your PCP 1 Oct, might they do a referral to GI ?

That's good news, purple. I've had 2 colonoscopies and had a couple small polyps each time. So I have to go every 2-3 years. I think when your over fifty your supposed to have it every 5 years, if no polyps are found. So as they say your good to go...

Just wish they would do something about the constant problems I do have....another month of this is crazy!!!

If one of your parents dies of colon cancer, then they want you to have a colonoscopy done every five years. On my first one, they found one polyp, and it was sent away for testing - it was clear of cancer. The last one I have had, they didn't find any polyps, but said that there was some areas of possible minor diverticulosis, but nothing major to worry about.

Have you looked up diverticulosis? Because it can cause all kinds of symptoms.
