blink.gif I am disabled vet rate 60% for one service connected disability and 10% for another service connected disability but the VA totals it at 60%. Also I get 100% disability payment as the VA has said that my disability renders me unable to work. So, I do not currently have to pay the VA for treatment.
I just received today a mailing from the VA Health Resource Center with the following forms and brochures that the cover letter says I requested.
1. Guide to VA Health Care
2. 2008 Co-Payments Rates
3. Beneficiary Travel Benefits
4. Enrollment Restriction of 2008
5. 10-10EZ Enrollment Application Form

I am going to call the VA 800# on Monday, but has anyone received this out of the blue. I have been in the VA system since 1972. I was just wondered if my 65th birthday next month triggered something. I also just noticed that my street address is misspelled as if this was not an automatic mailing, and someone typed my address in?? This whole things makes me very nervous. I hope I am just being an alarmist, but I have found in dealing with VA that there isn't such a thing!

The VA gets confused more than you would think.

I wouldn't worry about it. At least they think (for whatever reason) that you SHOULD be enrolled in the VA Healthcare System, and NOT that you SHOULDN'T.
Only worry when they say you SHOULDN'T, and then send you a bill for $19,457.55 and tell you that they'll be taking it out of your comp check, starting last month!!!

THEN! THEN! you can worry!

(I just made up that money amount, but, like my friend Judy Tenuta says "HEY, IT COULD HAPPEN!".)

I do have one question:
Have you ever "officially enrolled", by filling out the 10-10EZ? If you haven't "officially enrolled" but have just been going to the VA Medical Center for your care as you needed it, then, because you are 100% Permanent & Total, they have simply been doing their job by taking care of you WITHOUT you having ever been OFFICIALLY ENROLLED. I know, it sounds looney, but HEY, IT HAPPENS, remember it's the VA!
They say, that by you "officially enrolling" and filling out the 10-10EZ, that that helps them budget better, by knowing that you are enrolled and intending to use the VA medical services.
That, most likely, is why you received the mailing.

Like I said, ONLY worry when they say "pay up"!

I, by-the-way, wouldn't even bother spending my Monday morning trying to talk to someone that knows what is going on (it will just frustrate you and accomplish nothing, for the ONE person that knows the answer to your question is off on vacation until the 12th (trust me, I'm Indian and I know these things))!

It is your decision of what to do but the VA #800 can't help you or give you any answers. You would need to call the VA hospital that sent you the letter and talk to the business office. They may still give you the: Wow I am not sure why you got the letter, but that would be your best bet on getting an answer. If I am wrong then the letter should have came with a cover sheet that had letter head on it and a number to call if you have questions. Who knows what VA could be doing, could be a simple mistake.
