According to "Peggy" my claim is "Complete" although it still shows preparation for notification on ebenefits.

It really depends with your RO (Regional Office). Some are slower than others due to backlog of claims. It also depends on how complicated your claim is. I can honestly say, (being your claim is at the "review of evidence" stage), that it'll go alot faster if you find a good hobby to keep your mind off of it. I'm not trying to be rude, but your claim is in a stage that alot of times takes about a year to get out of that phase and on to the next one. But like I mentioned before, it'll depend on your RO mainly.

I think regardless of Ebenefits Status you get your claim completed and you get your decision when you get it. Ebenefits is not reducing a million claim backlog. You got to have good evidence, a nexus and current disability. If any of those things are lacking it does not matter about the rest. Certain groups want to take an ax to the federal budget. That means getting rid of employees. Unless the VA can do claims without human input it will be slow, slow and slower.

Why do vets drive themselves crazy checking Ebenefits? Seems until you have the letter in hand it's just waste of time. JMHO

I would venture a guess and say they probably do it because their wanting instant relief and hi-hopes of finding something positive. As long they know that it's not the final decision, then I don't have a problem with it. It's the ones that take it as gospel and final decision, are the ones that could end up at Heartbreak motel.

At times it seems the VA is moving employees, and claims around, to reduce backlog numbers in certain areas.

I hope your claim is resolved soon.

Best wishes for a successful outcome.

Thnx Cmdr. Bob! On the subject of moving claims around, I did find out last week while at Houston Dav that my claim had been moved to San Antonio several months ago to expedite. It moved to Notification on May 22 and it didn't get finished by the holiday. I already found out the results while down in Houston.

After being in "preparation for notification" for 4 days my claim this afternoon ..... like so many others have done... went to "review of evidence." It's in the home stretch now!

As mentioned many times before, not all RO's are the same in reporting changes on ebenefits. Here in San Diego for example, they update the info on ebenefits quickly. My experience has been that when they request info regarding my claim, I can be at the RO turning in the info before I get the notice in the mail. I check constantly to make sure they did not send my claim back to request additional information. My RO is only 15 minutes away for me, but for others it may be hours. Some may need to make appointments with DAV or other reps or take time off from work. As for backlog's and how VA has shown to delay in completing claims, I would hate to miss out on having a claim approved because I didnt reply on time. Or worse, not reply because I never received notification from the RO. Just my two cents...
