I take fourteen different types of medication for depression and other illnesses. These medications cause me to be dizzy and drowsy most of the day and is a common type of side effect. Will the side effects of these medicines affect my social security disability claim in any way?

Absolutely!

You can look up your drugs somewhere like here http://www.drugs.com/sfx/ and use the side effect list to help remember how they may affect you.

Include everything and use your worst days as an example.

Good luck! Posted Image

It should help, I agree. There is another facet as well. These days, many employers require drug testing. If prescription drugs cause the test to fail, this alone might make you unemployable, even in "marginal" jobs.

If a doc states these meds are needed for medical treatment and document your
side-effects with rationale of how these side effects impact occupational functioning,
then this should be factored in.
General side effects, do not necessarily pertain to everyone.
