Can $2M VA Home Loan red flag VA Disability Rating

Question

Not sure where to put this question. 

 

Simply put, can a $2 Million dollar VA Home loan FLAG one's VA 100% Disability rating?

 

Background: I work 1 day per week due to disability. My wife owns her own business and makes a lot of $ and that is how we can afford a home like this.

VA home loan application has nothing to do with your disability. You are entitled to a VA home loan anyway.

I had read some where that the VA Home loans only cover 750.000.00

if you got a 2 million VA Home Loan  it's the first I ever heard of.

I think there was a new law passed in 2020 or 2021 that allows it to pass? I am not 100% sure since my wife is doing most of it through a lender.

 

Should I be concerned that the VA sees this big home loan and decides to reopen my VA Disability file because they think I am making a lot of money?

I am not worried about my home loan entitlements and am very worried about the VA reopening my disability file due to a large home loan like this...  (very paranoid)

It used to be 144,000. Now, if you have full entitlement VA 'guarantees' up to 25% of the loan amount. They don't loan anything, they just put a rider on a portion of the loan. Its still up to the lender to approve the total amount.

I think the VA Home loans have nothing to do with your VA Compensation as for as to be worried about them taking your benefits away or proposal to reduce ..the lender may count your income as  to decide rather or not to loan you the $$  

 but I have no   I deal about a 2 million dollar VA Loan, that's between you and your lender, VA only A 'guarantees ''   a percentage of the loan  and its fairly small  like BROKENSOLIDER MENTION.

Our VA Compensation is protected for taxes and in law suites.and from the IRS

No.   There is no law against a Veteran marrying someone who makes more money than he does.  My spouse did (before she retired, she was a nurse).  

According to THIS VA website, if this is the first time you bought a home with VA, there is no loan limit.

If you previously used VA loan, then you will be subject to a limit. 

What WILL "red flag" you is if your doctor says you have improved "OR" if you got a disability rating for PTSD/MDD, and then you quit seeing the doctor.  That looks bad.  

Even that, is okay, tho, if you can document you have "sought treatment outside of VA", such as private therapist, etc.  The VA can not require you to do a specific treatment.  Exception:  Cpap for sleep apnea.  The rating specificly states you get 50 percent "but only if" you use a cpap.  

If you quit the cpap, and used alternate treatments, your osa rating "could be reduced". 

This is true with any disability "where" the CFR's specify a treatment, such as OSA and cpap.  

High blood pressure may be similar.  If you quit your blood pressure meds, and your blood pressure goes back to normal, without meds, you could get a reduction.
